Pastoral Counselor, Lic. Minister

Rev. Joann Douglass, MA, Advanced Certified:     

     I am, first and foremost, a minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  I am a licensed minister through the Renaissance Coalition (formerly known as the International Fellowship of Ministries).

     I am also a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and a Certified Temperament Counselor through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).

     I am advanced certified in Group Therapy, Cognitive Therapy and Ethics, Substance Abuse and Addiction Therapy, Temperament Therapy, Crisis and Abuse Therapy, Integrated Marriage and Family Therapy, Domestic Violence and Intervention Therapy, and Death and Grief Therapy, with more advanced certifications in the works.   

     I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Counseling through Cornerstone University.  I received my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Christian Counseling through Colorado Theological Seminary.

     I am a Christian Clinical Pastoral Counselor licensed through the NCCA.  This allows me to counsel utilizing my Christian faith, the Word of God, prayer, my education, wisdom and experience.  As a Pastoral Counselor, I am not state licensed and, therefore, do not diagnose nor claim to treat mental illness.

     Some people do need the comprehensive services offered by state licensed mental health and/or medical health professionals.  However, I believe many, if not most, people just need someone to talk through life's issues with, and receive a little guidance and direction to work through the situation.  And, we all need the Lord Jesus Christ at work in our lives.

     It is my desire to bring a hope and a refreshing to God's people.

     Christian or not, I will do my best to assist all who come to me for counsel.
